From December 4 to 5, the fourth national patent retrieval skills competition was successfully held in Nanjing. The competition is hosted by Jiangsu Intellectual Property Protection Center (Jiangsu Patent Information Service Center) and hosted by national intellectual property information service center of Nanjing University of technology. This competition takes the patentability retrieval of high-end equipment field as the theme and is divided into three stages: preliminary competition, semi-final competition and final competition. Since the opening of the competition in September this year, it has received wide attention from all walks of life. After fierce competition, 603 participants from 23 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China have obtained the qualification for the second round.
On December 4, the second round competition was held in the computer room of Jiangpu campus of Nanjing University of technology. It was divided into two stages: patent retrieval ability and patent patentability evaluation ability. After expert evaluation, nine people were successfully promoted to the final. On the afternoon of December 5, the final of the competition officially started. The contestants showed their ideas and methods of solving problems in turn. After expert evaluation and on-site audience voting, they finally selected one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes and seven encouragement prizes.
Hu Shuhong, our patent agent and patent analyst, stood out in the competition and won the third prize.
Hu Shuhong, graduated from master of engineering, has worked for 7 years as a substantive examiner of invention patent in Jiangsu patent examination cooperation center of Patent Office of State Intellectual Property Office. He has the qualification of patent agent and the title of assistant researcher, and has accumulated rich experience in patent retrieval and patent analysis. In 2020, he joined Suzhou Chuangyuan patent and Trademark Office as a patent agent and patent analyst.
During her work in Jiangsu Center, Hu Shuhong completed the actual examination of more than 700 invention patent applications, and several cases were rated as department highlight cases. In several annual assessments, Hu Shuhong was rated as excellent, and won the center's work award in 2019 and excellent staff in 2019.
After joining Chuangyuan, Hu Shuhong is mainly responsible for patent retrieval and analysis, and has completed more than 30 patent invalid retrieval reports, patent infringement retrieval reports, patent layout analysis reports, and patent risk investigation and analysis (FTO) reports of a number of enterprises to be listed. This award in the national patent retrieval skills competition is a full affirmation of Hu Shuhong's working ability and professional level.
